I had a great experience at this shop. Todd took the time to explain everything in detail before any work was done. He walked me through what needed immediate attention, what could wait, and why, without trying to upsell unnecessary repairs. I really appreciated his honesty and the way he made sure I understood the entire process. The pricing was very fair, especially considering the quality of the work and customer service. On top of that, the service was completed much quicker than I expected. It's hard to find a shop that's knowledgeable, transparent, reasonably priced, and efficient, but this place delivered on all of those. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic who communicates well and stands behind his work, I highly recommend asking for Todd. I'll definitely be coming back for future maintenance and repairs.

Preferred auto did a great inspection and repaired a broken component and also informed me that my brakes (previously serviced at a national mechanic franchise) were installed incorrectly! Thank you for letting me know!! Preferred auto are honest and thorough. I'm adding onto this original 5 star review to, once again, say thank you to Todd and Gary! After having my rotors resurfaced and new pads installed, I drove across the country in my 2009 sedan. Absolutely satisfied with the work they did!

I have been a Preferred Auto customer for 6 years. Recently purchased a used car and brought it in for a thorough evaluation. Received a text with a detailed color-coded inventory and description of the good, the good-for-now, and what needed immediate attention. Work was complete in a reasonable time for a good price. This shop has integrity, gives no-nonsense advice, and does excellent work. Highly recommend.

I took my car in for the check engine light, and it became pretty clear right away why this shop has such great reviews. From my first phone call, they were super accommodating with my busy schedule (getting me in very quickly compared to the dealership, and being above-and-beyond flexible with car drop off and pickup). They were very communicative, understanding, and kind throughout the whole process. They explained the problem with my car very thoroughly, answering any and all of my questions. And for the different tiers of solutions they offered at different price points, they clearly explained the pros and cons of each. (And after doing my own research, it's obvious they know what they're talking about.) The diagnostic and the work itself were very timely, even though they said beforehand they were very busy. They addressed all of my concerns without upselling or denying problems. And the best part, the fix worked!

Preferred Automotive Rockville has done an outstanding job so far. They quickly identified and fixed an issue I’d been struggling with for a long time. My car was shaking badly at highway speeds, making the ride extremely uncomfortable. It turned out to be a bent wheel. They replaced the wheel and the TPMS sensor, and went above and beyond by performing a comprehensive inspection of the entire vehicle. They even gave me a detailed list of future maintenance recommendations tailored to my car’s mileage and model. A big shoutout to Todd, Mike, and Gary! The level of service and care at their garage is beyond excellent. I’ve been to several mechanics in the past who never quite met my standards — I was always having to bring the car back for the same problems. That’s not the case here. I’ll definitely be continuing to work with Preferred Automotive to keep my car roadworthy and reliable. A big thank you to the whole team!
